CEMS provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for this HVAC renovation project at College of Charleston’s Berry Hall located at Calhoun Street and St. Philips Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The Joe E. Berry Jr. Hall is a six-story dormitory that houses primarily women freshmen and upperclassmen. The dormitory suite layout consists of two bedrooms with a shared bathroom and living room.

The building had humidity and mold problems before and the fresh air delivery system has not been performing adequately. The renovation will include replacing the existing rooftop humidification units with new units capable of providing the needed amount of dehumidified fresh air into the building.  The existing ductwork will also be replaced with new externally insulated sheet metal ductwork.
